Fitzroy's walks

Black Fitzroy
Charcoal Lane, the Aboriginal Health Service, and the Koori capital of the south.
From the 1950s, Fitzroy was the heart of Aboriginal Melbourne. The Aboriginal Health Service on Gertrude Street — the first in the country. Charcoal Lane. The Builders Arms. The corner where Pastor Doug Nicholls preached and Gary Foley organised. A walk through a suburb that the Koori community made its own, and is still fighting to hold.
