Walking on Wurundjeri Country — the city before, beneath and beyond.

Melbourne sits on the unceded land of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. This walk acknowledges Birrarung (the river misnamed the Yarra), the scar trees and meeting places still present in the CBD, and the sites where colonial Melbourne was built directly over older, ongoing First Peoples life.

This is a starter walk drawing on publicly available sources. We've worked hard to be accurate and respectful, and we welcome correction and contribution from Wurundjeri and other First Peoples voices.
